We are Kerry and Carissa, two full-time working, vaxing (vaccinating), circumcising, C/S’ed (C-section) proud mommas of our boys, the Penguin and the Noggin. We love to connect with other parents and share stories about life with baby boys as we balance full-time careers with our full-time mom schedules. We’re also currently both preggo (Kerry with her third child and Carissa with her second) with the same due date! Check out our blog for mommy insights and personal musings, tips on healthy family eating habits, and updates on life with the Penguin and the Noggin.

Kerry Johnson Anthony is president of Susan’s Healthy Gourmet, Xan Confections, and LifeSpring Home Nutrition. Carissa Sanchez is nutritionist at Susan’s Healthy Gourmet. Susan’s Healthy Gourmet prepares and packages fresh, nutritionally balanced and calorie-regulated meals for pick-up or delivery twice weekly throughout Southern California – and we can both attest to how healthful and convenient Susan’s meals are while pregnant and after having our babies! Susan’s healthy kids’ meal options include the Backpack Lunches and Busy Bee Dinners.

What’s in a Nickname?

The Penguin and the Noggin are the nicknames of our first-born kids. Carissa’s son, Blake aka “the Penguin,” got his nickname after an early ultrasound showed a resemblance to a little penguin. Kerry’s son, Jax, earned the nickname “the Noggin” for his cute big head! Kerry also has a second boy, George aka “Baby G.”
